I thought that the interview went really well this morning. That being said I was told that I would get a phone call this afternoon as to whether or not they wanted me to come back for a second interview. It is nearly 5:30 and as of yet the only phone call that I have gotten was from my boyfriend to tell me that he stayed home from work because the lock to his front door broke, which has just set me over the edge. He missed work, a job where he works on commission and has to get so many sales a month, because the first of 3 doors to his apartment had a broken lock. How about the other two doors, both of which have dead bolts? I highly doubt that a burglar is going to waste their time with two dead bolts when they could bash his window in and climb through the living room 20 times easier! Really, is that something to miss work over?! NO! And if I had done something like that he would think that I was a nut job.
I am getting really anxious bordering on upset because I haven't heard anything. I really wanted this position. I was really excited to finally start teaching. I think I might be sick. Thank God I took my anti-anxiety today or this hot mess would be even hotter.

Your result for What language would you be?...
Esperanto

Because you are so uncomplicated and easy to get along with, you would be Esperanto if you were a language.
This language was in 1887 created to be flexible and easy to learn in the hope that it would become a universal language. However, it has yet to achieve this position and today has somewhere between a hundred thousand and two million speakers.

Your result for The Which Book Next? Quiz...
Paul Hoffman
You're quite a fan of science fiction, I think, and you're looking for something entertaining and modern. You like interesting characters and a fast-paced plot. The unusual fascinates you, and you prefer to be allowed to enjoy it rather than listen to a lot of theorising.
I'd recommend:
Imperial Earth by Arthur C. Clarke
Foundation by Isaac Asimov
Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
The Golden Apples of the Sun by Ray Bradbury
Bad Monkeys by Matt Ruff
Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin
The Wisdom of Crocodiles by Paul Hoffman

OK, I know you all can't possibly have forgotten, but just in case a few of you missed the original announcements, here's a repeat.
Date: Saturday August 30, 2008
Time: 12:00 pm PST, 3:00 pm Eastern, 8:00 pm British, and 9:00 pm Continental European
Place: Immy Chat Room, Boe's Garden ( Password: )
And have entered it in your Most Important Things That Must Be Done list, right?
Of course you have because you remember, since this is the kind of thing that people just don’t forget, we’re going to be handing out prizes! 7 in total. Now, I know you all have been asking yourself what kind of prizes. Will we be handing out sweets from Honeyduke’s or manky old boots from the Ministries used portkey box? Neither! Well, what are they you ask? Well, just by showing up in the course of the chat, you could win:
3x50g skeins of Dark Blue Carola cotton blend yarn: (If you’d like to know how it knits up, see Falling Water or Icy Stream (link below))
Foliage Hat Kit consisting of Sensations Bellezza Collection Dolcetto yarn and the Foliage Hat Pattern
One set of 6 Hogwarts Stitch Markers
The Hibiscus for Hope Pattern – This pattern was purchased with a donation to Knitters for Knockers in support of the Weekend to End Breast Cancer (2008). Should you be interested in making a donation yourself, the instructions can be found in the pattern link. More pictures of the socks can be found in the Yarn Harlot’s Blog.
The Truffle Pattern – graciously donated by
A Drop Stitch Scarf also graciously donated by Penster
The Icy Stream Scarf knit by yours truly (using the Carola cotton blend in light blue).
Alternative prizes for Crocheters:
Ribbed Wrist Warmers kit consisting of the pattern and Regia Patch Antik Color yarn
Gulf Shores Hat kit consisting of the pattern and Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk Aran yarn
Or
Lace Cap kit consisting of the pattern and Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk Aran yarn
Prizes will be chosen by drawing names out of a hat after the chat is over by yours truly (my name shan’t be in the draw, so it will be fair). Everyone who shows up is eligible to win. This means that the prizes will be distributed according to knitting / crocheting ability, i.e. someone who cannot knit or crochet will receive one of the finished prizes.
If that isn’t enough to entice you in, just ask yourself if you want to be amongst the first in on the really exciting news we have for you!! The announcement will be made sometime during the Yarnola chat. So make sure you’re there!
Excited yet? Well we sure are! We’re looking forward to seeing each and every one of you there and having a great time to celebrate Immy’s 7th birthday!

Hillary Supporters...SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY! MOVE ON!

As great as Hilary's speech was, I'm EXTREMELY pissed off at CNN. In fact, I just fired an email off to them. Here it is...
SHAME on CNN for interviewing that whiny, needy, clingy, unbalanced Hilary Clinton supporter who can't be an adult and let go. Hilary Clinton had just managed to rally the party to unify, then your coverage immediately went to the sobbing, blubbering, "I refuse to accept it", black woman who just proclaimed she would continue to vote for Clinton and may not even vote in the primary! HOW COULD YOU DO THAT? What a bonehead move! Hilary straight out asked, "Are you in this for me or for those people I met on the trail?" Obviously this whiny woman was NOT in it for anyone BUT Hilary.
Thanks a lot CNN...the atmosphere in Denver may have still been jovial, but you brought everyone sitting in their living room down IMMEDIATELY. We were buzzing along at a 20 and your brought us to a screeching halt at 3 in about 30 seconds.
YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES! At least Anderson Cooper had the presence of mind to LOOK ashamed of that interview having been aired.
Your actions have lead me to believe that you will do whatever it takes to get a story, even if it means undermining one of the greatest presidential candidates of all time.
I'd like to see CNN apologize for it's irresponsible behavior, which was responsible for bringing the excitement of its viewers down, and for continuing to give these whiny, emotionally needy, Clinton supporters a voice. All that does is undermine Obama. ENOUGH ALREADY!
Another notable speaker, the governor of Montana. Awesome.

I am in serious need of some political icons. I'd like to have some that make McCain look bad, old, etc. I'd also like to have some good Obama ones.
I'd also be interested in icons that are animated not only with the above requests, but also something funny to put the smack on McCain.
I'm sure someone out there can assist...

Everything is hand stitched because I have no idea how to use a sewing machine and I'm a little too lazy to go the 10 steps into my sister's house and have her show me how to use hers... Yes, I know it makes little to no sense. But I like it that way. :D
Anyway, I'm pretty pleased, so I thought I would share.

I am home from college for the summer, and thus my mom can see all the projects I’m working on. (I got the craft gene from her.) The last two projects made her very excited because they reminded her of the dresses she used to make me when I was a little girl: fabric added to the bottom of a shirt to make a dress. She requested that add a childhood photo to the beginning of this post. Apologies for the poor photo quality, I don’t have a high quality scanner.
